The 2021 Annual Conference takes place in Jönköping, 27-29 October 2021. #emmaSweden is hosted by the Media, Management and Transformation Center (MMTC), Jönköping International Business School, Jönköping University, Sweden.
For the first time, we have the honor to welcome you to the beautiful city of Jönköping . Beautifully situated in southern Sweden on the shores of Lake Vättern, Jönköping offers a vibrant city pulse, beach life, and nature on the doorstep. The city centre of Jönköping consists of picturesque alleys and canals opening the city up to the three lakes.
During the conference, there will be plenary sessions with keynote speakers and/or panel presenters. There will also be paper presentation sessions and a pre-conference featuring a colloquium for doctoral students and a JOMBS paper development workshop.
Scholars have started to provide insights and overviews on how sustainability has been applied and explored in the world of media firms (e.g., Berglez et al., 2017). However, media management research has still to provide greater understanding on how media organizations respond to the imperative of sustainability (Lubin & Esty, 2010) and how economic, social, and environmental performance interact. Importantly, media management scholars also have a significant–but yet unfulfilled–role in asking questions and helping to make collective decisions related to what media systems, subsystems, and characteristics of them, we should be interested in sustaining (Costanza & Patten, 1995).”
The emma2021 conference will be held in hybrid format to ensure participation in the academic program is possible despite the current corona restrictions.
Online participation will be allowed only through Zoom. The direct links to each session are included in this platform. Those attending online need to download and set up Zoom .
In each parallel session, there will be one onsite chair, one online chair and one technical assistant (who guarantees the operation of IT equipment onsite)
Each session is 55 minutes long and is arranged as follows:
Each paper is presented for a maximum of 10 minutes followed by a short Q&A moderated by the onsite chair.
Each poster (if any) is presented for a maximum of 5 minutes followed by a short Q&A moderated by the onsite chair
If there is available time, the onsite chair can open for a general discussion about all presentations before the close of the session.
We recommend paper presentations of 8 minutes so that there is sufficient time for Q&As. Due to our very tight schedule no presentation will be allowed to take more than 10 minutes.
All authors presenting in parallel sessions are requested to send their slides to the corresponding online chair, preferably, not later than Oct. 25.
Please, note that:
All the online presenters need to be familiar with the Zoom as we do not have any extra time between the presentations.
Those presenting online should join their sessions at least 10 minutes before they start.
Conference chair: Joaquin Cestino
